World Poker Tour Season 6: Results of the Mirage Poker Showdown 2007

Held at the beautiful Mirage Casino under the jurisdiction of the city of Las Vegas in Nevada, the Mirage Poker Showdown officially marked the opening of the sixth season of the World Poker Tour. With over 300 participants buying their way into this exciting event, the prize pool climbed up to a huge $2,907,381. From the 19th of May until the 23rd of the same month, the world of poker witnessed another classic finish in one of the most highly celebrated events in the game.

With so many great talents competing for the right to score a poker championship, the final table of the no-limit Mirage Poker Showdown took place at the final day of this schedule. After days of highly competitive poker contests, the final cast was trimmed down to six outstanding players of the game. In what would be a start of yet another successful season for the World Poker Tour, all eyes were set on these players as they prove their worth and talent in Texas Holdem poker.

Just as expected, the final table of this particular poker tournament was purely talent-laden. With the likes of Amnon Filippi, Phil Ivey, and Richard Kirsch filling up the first half of the final roster, the event was really anticipated to go down the wire. Cory Carroll, Jonathan Little, and Darrell Dicken consist the other half of the finalists. With a final table simultaneously filled with so many great talents and superior skills in poker, the outcome of the game was somehow unpredictable.

As the momentum of the players shifts from one participant to the other, the Mirage Poker Showdown 2007 proved to be one of the most exciting finishes ever in the rich and colorful history of the World Poker Tour. After a remarkable first place finish at the Bellagio Challenge Cup in 2005, Filippi found himself ousted early in the final table. A little bit later, it was Phil Ivey's turn to be eliminated from the competition. Kirsh followed soon, leaving Dicken, Little, and Carroll to fight over the illustrious pot prize and the prestigious World Poker Tour title.

With only three players left to go, the Mirage Poker Showdown has turned out to be more exciting than what has been expected. Moving on with the tournament, the inferior card combination of Dicken left out Carroll and Little for the final face-off. While they are playing, both competitors showed how tough their hearts are, piling one great hand after another. However, this World Poker Tour tournament can only cater to a single winner, which eventually went to Little. At the end, he was able to bring home the grand prize amounting to $1,066,295.
